Hi! I’m Midnight Dreamer, and welcome to
the manual for the Forgotten Scans WPS.
the manual for the Forgotten Scans WPS.
For the actual WPS, go here:

docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0AlJlklHtJJhadGw2TmJFcElNZnVKSDdYcFIwbGIwZkE&usp=drive_web#gid=10
So, when you first open the document, there’s this page:
This is the quick and simple “At-A-Glance” page.
The AaG page holds the basic information, so you can know what’s going on with the projects, well, at a glance.
Well, let’s break it down:
-The first column is the project name, as so wonderfully described by the top. The projects are usually listed in order by series popularity...but it’s a total pain to move stuff around. But don’t fret! As you can probably see, series popularity has it’s own tab, so yes, I will obnoxiously point out the
obvious there, too.
-You’ll probably notice the next column is called “Pipe,” and if you’re like me, you’re probably wondering what the fluff that means if this is your first time looking at the WPS. Allow me to explain {or don’t, but I’m going to, anyway}. A “pipe” is basically a category. Projects we’re focusing on more than others will be in the “fast” pipe, joint projects will be in the joint pipe, and projects we aren’t focusing on as much will be in the slow pipe. Make sense? Good.
-Next is the task column, which tells you what’s being worked on as of now with the given project. It’s color coded, too, so it’s pretty ^^
-After that, and the final one, is priority. It’s color coded as well {I like pretty colors}. Usually, there will be a note explaining why its priority is its priority, but that usually has some more detail in the main WPS.
And because I’m a genius, I cut out the
note on the side...so here’s what it says:
“To sign up for work that is available, please navigate to the "Main WPS" tab, find the name of the project that is in the list to the left that you would like to work on, then find the area in the chapter list that needs someone to work on it. Please put your name down, and highlight the box with the "working color", which is kinda orange-ish. Feel free to ask another member in chat or via pm as to how to change the background color, or see the tutorial that I hope to make soon about the wps, etc.”
Alrighty, all done with the AaG page.
Next up is...DUN DUN DUNNNN
THE MAIN WPS.
hahaha, just kidding. It’s pretty cool, actually.
So the layout of this page is much more detailed than the AaG page. It holds the Joint/Slow pipes {the fast pipe has its own page.}
This is just the first part because the entire thing is huge.
But don’t worry, it isn’t as complicated as it may look…
If it seems complicated to you.
{It did to me x) }
-Okay, so like the AaG page, the first column is the project name. Below that, it tells you when the last release of that project was, and it’s color coded {^^}, too. So yeah.
-So, sometimes there is a “relative priority” column, and sometimes there’s not. It’s just kind of up to what’s going on with that project.
-Next up is the status column, which is like a more detailed version of what’s on the AaG page. For “Chaos Attack,” you can see the different statuses of each chapter {and they’re color coded ^o^, but that’s next}. Pretty basic so far, right? Good.
-Finally, is the notes, and like the priority, it’s sometimes there, and sometimes not. For “Good Robot,” there’s a note about the proofreading being done. Most of the time, it will be that kind of thing. So yay.
Okay, now it’s kind of complicated. But this is the color coded part so it’s my favorite. ^^
Alright, it’s kind of hard to read but if I make it bigger then everything will just be bad, so deal.
BUT EES SO PREEEETTYYYYY
Okay. So that, my friends, is what I call the staff section. It tells you who’s working on what, the progress of that task, and it’s all pretty-like.
The colorful lines across the top are just for positions, but I’m going to obnoxiously point out the obvious because that’s what I’m good for.
Red is for the translation, purple for the proofreader, blue for the cleaner and the redrawer {because the redrawer isn’t always applicable}, green for typesetter, and yellow for QC Preppers.
“But, Midnight!” you say, “What about the background colors?”
Hush, now, I’m getting there.
There’s actually a little bar about those background colors, but it was kind of confusing to me. So...yeah.
Those background colors, by the way, are for progress.
As you can see on that same picture {I’ll put it again so you don’t have to scroll because I’m nice},
I know it’s small but just bear with me.
So, the first column is Gray, which means it has been completed and submitted.
The second column has a blue in it, which means it has been assigned, but has not been started.
The 3rd column has two more colors *gasp*.
Orange means it is currently being worked on {and kitty has put some %s so you can see how far he’s gotten ^^}.
Black means we need someone for this task.
The last one listed on this section is green, which means FoS staff aren’t working on it.
The final one is yellow, which is an alert of some sort. So yay.
Lots of black. x)
Okie doke, that didn’t take long.
The next little...tab thingy...is for the Birthday list. You probably get what it means but yall should know what I’m here for by now...obnoxiously pointing out the obvious. Oh yeah. It keeps track of all the staff’s birthdays and usually, we’ll have releases out on those days, so it’s just a handy way to keep track of everything. ^^
Release Plans is, like the birthday list, just a handy way to keep track of when we’ll be putting out certain things, if it’s been uploaded, etc., etc..
“WHOA, WHAT IN THE UNIVERSE COULD THIS BE?” you’re probably asking.
Well geez, can’t you read…
Just kidding! ^^
Hahaha, so though this reminds me a lot of ketchup and mustard, it is to keep track of how well the series are doing. I think I accidentally cut out the top to explain what’s going on because I’m a genius, but it labels the columns into time frames, and votes, and the last released chapter...it does what its title says. ^^
Oh, and remember how in the beginning I talked about a priority list? It’s here, too. On the far right hand side of this sheet, there are numbers that rank the projects, and then at the bottom, there’s this:
The priority list. Yay.
So the next two tab thingies are labeled "Dropped" and "Fansub."
Though it’s always sad to lose a project, there’s always a reason why, and the dropped tab has it all.
The Fansub page is a thing that isn’t really a thing, so don’t worry about it. {i.e. we no longer fansub}
And that’s about it! I hope my obnoxious pointing out of obvious things helped, and thanks for reading.
Sincerely Yours,
Midnight Dreamer ^^

Alright, it’s the exact same thing.
But, the fast pipe is for those who are dedicated to FoS and have time to do a few chapters in a shorter timespan, so if you can, you should help out! ^^
{everything can be used for self promo}
